A PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is an 8-digit code used to unlock a SIM card that has been blocked after too many incorrect PIN attempts. If you enter your EE SIM PIN incorrectly three times in a row, your SIM will become blocked and you will see a message asking for your PUK code. Entering the wrong PUK code ten times will permanently destroy the SIM.
Finding your PUK code on EE's app or website
Your EE PUK code can be found in several ways without having to call customer service:
1. Log into EE online and look under SIM or account details, where the PUK is typically shown.
2. Open the EE app — SIM details, under account settings, is where the PUK usually sits.
3. The card-sized packaging the SIM was punched from usually has the PUK printed on it, if it hasn't been thrown out.
4. Ring EE directly as a last resort; they'll provide the PUK after an identity check, number listed on the EE hub.
