Lebara eSIM Setup UK 2026 eSIM
Lebara supports eSIM on compatible Android and iPhone devices. An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone — no physical SIM card required. You request the eSIM from Lebara, receive a QR code, and scan it to activate. This guide walks you through the full process.

What Is an eSIM on Lebara?
Rather than a physical card, an eSIM lives in the phone's hardware, with the carrier profile downloaded and activated wirelessly. Benefits include:
- No plastic SIM required, and activation is instant with any internet connection
- Dual SIM support lets the eSIM sit alongside a physical card, two numbers on one device
- No postal wait — activation happens instantly
- eSIM profiles can be swapped without ever touching the phone's hardware

How to Get a Lebara eSIM
- Visit the Lebara website or open the Lebara app and navigate to the eSIM or SIM section.
- Select an eSIM plan, or ask to convert an existing physical SIM if you're already a customer.
- Lebara will send you an eSIM QR code — either by email or displayed in the app.
- Print the QR code or display it on another device — the phone being activated can't scan its own QR code.

APN Settings After Lebara eSIM Activation
In most cases, Lebara pushes the correct APN settings automatically when you activate the eSIM. If mobile data is not working after activation, check or manually enter the APN:
| Field | Value | |
|---|---|---|
| APN | uk.lebara.mobi | |
| APN Type | default,supl,mms | |
| APN Protocol | IPv4/IPv6 |
On Android: Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks › Access Point Names. Tap the Lebara eSIM profile and verify the APN is set to uk.lebara.mobi.
On iPhone: Go to Settings › Mobile Data › Mobile Data Network and verify the APN field shows uk.lebara.mobi. (This may be greyed out — that is normal and means Lebara controls it via the carrier bundle.)
Troubleshooting Lebara eSIM
- Scanning issues usually mean poor lighting or distance — hold the camera 20-30cm away and raise screen brightness.
- A failed eSIM download usually means unstable Wi-Fi — check the connection, retry, and restart if necessary.
- Mobile data not working after activation — check APN is set to uk.lebara.mobi. Toggle Aeroplane Mode on then off. Restart the phone.
- eSIM shows as inactive — go to SIM Manager (Android) or Settings › Mobile Data (iPhone) and ensure the Lebara eSIM is set as active/primary.
- QR code expired — Lebara eSIM QR codes typically expire after 24–48 hours. Request a new one from Lebara if the original has expired.
- Device not supported is the usual reason eSIM can't be added — see the compatible devices table, as some older or budget Android phones miss out.
