⚠ MMS requires an active mobile data connection. Picture messages cannot be sent over Wi-Fi only — mobile data must be enabled.
Android MMS Setup — Lebara
The APN (Access Point Names) section of mobile network settings is where MMS gets configured on Android, with the exact path varying by manufacturer.
Samsung (Galaxy devices)
- Open Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks › Access Point Names.
- Tap your existing Lebara APN to edit it, or tap + to create a new one.
- Set APN: uk.lebara.mobi.
- Enter MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.vodafone.co.uk:8002.
- Enter MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.012 and MMS Port: 8799.
- Set APN Type: default,supl,mms.
- Tap ⋮ › Save, then select the profile by tapping the radio button next to it.
- A restart or Aeroplane Mode toggle will apply the new settings.
Pixel and other Android devices
- Open Settings › Network & internet › Mobile network › Access point names.
- Tap the + icon to add a new APN, or tap your existing Lebara APN to edit it.
- Every value from the table above should be entered exactly, with unlisted fields left blank.
- Tap the three-dot menu and select Save. Tap the radio button next to the APN to activate it.
- Restart the phone for the MMS settings to take effect.
⚠ Important: After tapping Save on Android, the APN is not yet active. You must tap the radio button (empty circle) next to the APN to activate it. The circle must be filled for the profile to be in use.
Lebara MMS on iPhone
iPhones receive MMS settings automatically via the Lebara carrier bundle. You generally do not need to enter them manually. If picture messages are not working on iPhone, follow these steps:
- Settings › General › About will show a prompt if there's a carrier settings update to install.
- Go to Settings › Messages and confirm MMS Messaging is toggled ON.
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode on for 15–30 seconds, then off, to re-register on the Lebara network.
- Restart the iPhone completely and try sending a picture message.
- For persistent MMS failures: Settings › General › Transfer or Reset iPhone › Reset › Reset Network Settings, which clears saved Wi-Fi passwords.
Note: On iPhones with iOS 16 or later, the APN field at Settings › Mobile Data › Mobile Data Network may be greyed out. This is normal — Lebara controls it via the carrier bundle. Contact Lebara to force a carrier profile update if needed.
