Step 1 — Check Smarty eSIM Compatibility

Confirm your phone supports eSIM and your Smarty plan is eSIM-compatible.

  • For iPhone XS or newer, eSIM support shows via Settings › General › About under "Digital SIM".
  • Android: Settings › Connections › SIM Manager — look for "Add eSIM".
  • Check Smarty offers eSIM on your plan: Smarty help.

Step 2: Get Your Smarty eSIM QR Code

  1. Order an eSIM plan or request an eSIM swap via the Smarty website or app.
  2. An emailed QR code follows — keep it ready, as it's single-use only.
  3. Make sure Wi-Fi is stable before scanning — the profile is downloaded over the internet.
The QR code can only be used once. Contact Smarty for a replacement if needed.

Activate Smarty eSIM on iPhone

  1. Settings › Mobile Data › Add eSIM.
  2. Tap Use QR Code and scan the Smarty QR code.
  3. Follow prompts: Continue › Add Data Plan › Use as Mobile Data.
  4. Downloading and connecting the profile happens automatically.
  5. Turn Wi-Fi off and load a page as a quick test.

Activate Smarty eSIM on Android

  1. Samsung: Settings › Connections › SIM Manager › Add eSIM.
  2. Stock Android: Settings › Network & Internet › SIMs › Add a SIM.
  3. Choose Scan QR code from carrier and scan the Smarty QR code.
  4. If the device is dual-SIM, choose this as the preferred data line.
  5. Restart and test mobile data.

  1. A failed QR scan often means Wi-Fi wasn't connected during activation.

  4. A missing Add eSIM option usually means the device or plan lacks eSIM support.
