APN stands for Access Point Name. It is a configuration string your phone uses to connect to the EE mobile network for internet data, MMS picture messages and mobile hotspot. Without the correct EE APN settings, your SIM card may connect to the network but fail to load web pages or send picture messages.
This guide covers the recommended EE APN values for Android and iPhone, including the APN name, username, password, MMSC, MMS proxy and port fields. If your device is showing mobile data connected but no internet, checking the APN configuration is one of the first steps to take.
Correct EE APN values for Pixel
On most Android devices running Android 10 or later, you can access APN settings by opening Settings, then tapping Network & Internet (or Connections on Samsung), then Mobile Network, then Access Point Names. Tap the plus icon to create a new APN profile, or tap an existing entry to edit it.
On Samsung Galaxy devices, the path is usually Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names. On Xiaomi and Redmi devices, go to Settings → SIM cards & Mobile Networks → Access Point Names.

Why Pixel APN settings may reset after update
On iPhone with iOS 16 or later, go to Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Network. If this option does not appear, your carrier may push APN settings automatically. You can also reset your network settings at Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings, which will restore the default EE APN configuration.
Note: On newer iPhones using carrier bundles, the APN field may be greyed out. In this case, contact EE support to update your carrier settings profile.

Troubleshooting EE APN issues
If mobile data still does not work after entering the EE APN settings, try the following steps in order:
1. Toggle aeroplane mode. Turn aeroplane mode on for ten seconds, then turn it off. This forces your phone to reconnect to the EE network and re-register the APN profile.
2. Restart your phone. A full restart clears temporary network faults and applies new APN values correctly.
3. Delete and re-enter the APN. Sometimes a single incorrect character in the APN name or MMSC URL prevents data from working. Delete the profile and enter all values from scratch.
4. Reset all network settings. On Android: Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings. On iPhone: Settings → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings. This clears all saved Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings and APN settings, then restores the EE defaults.
5. Check your EE account. Make sure your SIM is activated, your account is active and you have not exceeded your data allowance. Visit the EE APN hub or call EE customer services.
Follow these steps in order — most issues are resolved by step 1 or 2
• The MMS Proxy field is an IP address only — no http:// prefix
• APN Type must contain mms (e.g.
default, supl, mms)• On Android, save then select the profile before testing
APN settings for MMS on EE
MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) uses a separate APN profile or additional fields within your main APN. If picture messages are not sending or downloading, check that the MMSC, MMS proxy and MMS port fields are correctly filled in. Some Android phones require a dedicated MMS APN entry separate from the internet APN.
Enter MMS fields exactly as shown — the MMSC must start with http:// not https://
Frequently asked questions
Will changing APN settings delete anything?
No. Changing your APN settings does not delete contacts, messages or apps. It only affects how your phone connects to the mobile network for internet and MMS data. You can always reset to defaults if needed.
Do I need to enter APN settings on an eSIM?
In most cases, eSIM profiles include the correct APN settings automatically. However, if mobile data is not working on your EE eSIM, you may need to enter the APN values manually using the same steps above.
Why is my EE APN greyed out?
Some network operators lock the APN field on specific devices or SIM types. If the APN is greyed out on Android, try going to Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network and looking for an option to reset APNs. On iPhone, a greyed-out APN field means the carrier is controlling the setting via a carrier bundle — contact EE to request an APN update.
