Vodafone APN Settings UK 2026 MNO
Vodafone UK is one of the four major Mobile Network Operators, part of Vodafone Group Plc. The standard Vodafone APN is wap.vodafone.co.uk. Vodafone's own youth brand VOXI and MVNOs including Lebara and TalkTalk Mobile use Vodafone's infrastructure but have separate APNs. This guide covers Vodafone direct SIMs only.

Use these values to manually configure a Vodafone APN on Android. The APN field is wap.vodafone.co.uk — note the "wap." prefix, which distinguishes it from EE's and O2's APNs.

Vodafone MMS Settings
Vodafone uses a different MMSC endpoint and port compared to EE and O2. The MMS port is 8799 (not the more common 8080). If picture messages are failing after setting up the internet APN, create a separate MMS profile or update your internet APN to include APN Type default,supl,mms.

How to Set Up Vodafone APN on Android
- Open Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks.
- Tap Access Point Names.
- Tap + to add a new profile.
- Set APN to wap.vodafone.co.uk and Username/Password to wap.
- Set MCC: 234, MNC: 15, APN Type: default,supl.
- Tap ⋮ › Save. Select the profile to make it active.
- Restart your phone.
- Open Settings › Network & internet › SIMs.
- Tap your Vodafone SIM › Access Point Names.
- Tap +, enter values, save and activate.
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode to reconnect.
- Go to Settings › SIM cards & mobile networks.
- Select your Vodafone SIM › Access Point Names.
- Tap +, enter the Vodafone values, save and restart.
- Open Settings › Mobile Network › Access Point Names.
- Add a new APN with the Vodafone values. Confirm APN field = wap.vodafone.co.uk.
- Save and select as active. Restart device.
Vodafone APN on iPhone
Vodafone iPhones receive APN settings via the Vodafone carrier bundle automatically. Manual APN entry is not available on iOS. If mobile data isn't working on a Vodafone iPhone:
- Go to Settings › General › About and install any available carrier settings update.
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode on for 15 seconds, then off.
- Confirm Settings › Cellular › Cellular Data is on.
- Restart the iPhone.
- If still failing: call Vodafone on 191 (free from Vodafone) to request an APN profile push to your number.
Vodafone 4G and 5G
Vodafone uses the same APN (wap.vodafone.co.uk) for 4G LTE and 5G networks. Vodafone launched 5G in the UK in July 2019 and has since expanded to most major cities. The network operates on 3.4 GHz (Band n78) spectrum. Vodafone also has access to 700 MHz spectrum for wider 5G coverage in rural and suburban areas.
To confirm 5G is enabled: Settings › Mobile Network › Network Mode › select 5G/4G/3G/2G Auto. Vodafone Unlimited plans include 5G at no extra charge.

Vodafone APN Troubleshooting
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode on for 15 seconds to reset the network connection.
- Restart your phone to apply any APN changes you have saved.
- Check Vodafone's network status — use the Vodafone app, My Vodafone, or call 191. Planned maintenance can affect data in specific areas.
- Verify the APN string. Confirm it reads exactly wap.vodafone.co.uk. The "wap." prefix is essential — omitting it routes data through the wrong gateway.
- Check APN Type. Should be
default,suplfor internet data only, ordefault,supl,mmsif you also need picture messaging. - Verify username and password are both set to wap (Vodafone uses a credential-based APN unlike EE or Three which have open APNs).
- Reset network settings and re-create the APN from scratch if the above steps don't resolve the issue.
- Contact Vodafone: call 191 (free from Vodafone) or 0333 304 0191 from any phone. Vodafone can push APN settings remotely and verify your account's data provisioning.
