Three Mobile APN Settings UK 2026 MNO

Three (3) is a UK Mobile Network Operator owned by CK Hutchison Networks. Its APN is simply three.co.uk — no username or password required, which makes it one of the easiest APNs to configure. Three was also the first UK operator to launch a standalone (SA) 5G network. MVNOs including SMARTY and iD Mobile use Three's infrastructure but require their own APN values.

Three uses an open APN — no authentication credentials are required. Simply enter three.co.uk as the APN and leave the username and password fields blank.

Three MMS Settings

Three's MMSC runs on a non-standard port (10021) in the URL, which is different from EE and O2. The MMS proxy port is 8799. Create a separate MMS APN profile or add mms to your internet APN type.

How to Set Up Three APN on Android

  1. Open Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks.
  2. Tap Access Point Names.
  3. Tap + to add a new profile.
  4. Set Name: Three Internet, APN: three.co.uk. Leave username and password blank.
  5. Set MCC: 234, MNC: 20, APN Type: default,supl.
  6. Tap ⋮ › Save, then activate the profile.
  7. Restart your phone.

  2. Tap your Three SIM › Access Point Names.
  3. Tap + and enter the Three values. APN = three.co.uk, no credentials needed.
  4. Save and activate. Toggle Aeroplane Mode to reconnect.

Three APN on iPhone

Three iPhones receive APN settings automatically via the Three carrier bundle. Manual APN entry is not possible on iOS. If data is not working on a Three iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings › General › About — install any carrier settings update prompt.
  2. Toggle Aeroplane Mode on for 15 seconds, then off.
  3. Ensure Settings › Cellular › Cellular Data is enabled.
  4. Restart fully.
  5. Contact Three on 333 (free from Three) or 0333 338 1001 from any phone.

Three 4G and 5G Network

Three uses three.co.uk for both 4G and 5G. Three holds the most 5G spectrum of any UK operator and was first to launch standalone (SA) 5G in the UK in 2022 — meaning its 5G network doesn't depend on 4G infrastructure for control signalling. Three's 5G operates on 3.4 GHz (Band n78) and 1800 MHz (Band n3).

Three also offers "Go Roam" on many plans, allowing data use in 71+ countries at no extra charge using the same APN. The roaming APN for Three is still three.co.uk — no separate roaming APN is needed on Go Roam plans.

Three Mobile APN Troubleshooting

  1. Toggle Aeroplane Mode for 15 seconds to force re-registration on Three's network.
  2. Restart your phone to apply any saved APN changes.
  3. Check Three's network status. Use the Three app or call 333. Three's network covers 99% of UK outdoor geography but indoor coverage in rural buildings can be variable.
  4. Verify the APN reads exactly three.co.uk. Confirm the username and password fields are completely blank — entering any credentials will cause authentication to fail.
  5. Check roaming is enabled if travelling outside the UK. On Three, data roaming is separate from the APN — go to Settings › Mobile Data › Data Roaming and enable it.
  6. Reset network settings to clear any corrupted APN state.
  7. Contact Three: call 333 from a Three number (free) or 0333 338 1001 from any phone. Three can remotely provision the APN to your SIM.
