SMARTY is a UK MVNO owned by Three, offering no-contract SIM-only plans with data rollover. The APN is simply smarty — no credentials required. SMARTY uses Three's 4G and 5G infrastructure. Despite being a Three subsidiary, SMARTY has its own distinct APN gateway.

Android Setup — SMARTY
- Open Settings › Connections › Mobile Networks.
- Tap Access Point Names.
- Tap + to create a new APN profile.
- Set APN: smarty. Leave Username and Password blank — SMARTY uses an open APN.
- Set MCC: 234, MNC: 20, APN Type: default,supl.
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) then Save. Tap the radio button to activate.
- Restart your phone or toggle Aeroplane Mode to apply changes.
- Open Settings › Network & internet › SIMs.
- Tap your SMARTY SIM › Access Point Names › +.
- Enter APN: smarty. Leave Username and Password blank — SMARTY uses an open APN.
- Save and activate. Toggle Aeroplane Mode to reconnect.
- Open Settings › Mobile Network › Access Point Names.
- Add a new APN with APN: smarty and all values from the table above.
- Save, select as active, and restart your device.
SMARTY on iPhone
SMARTY iPhones receive APN settings via the carrier bundle — manual entry is not available on iOS. If data is not working:
- Go to Settings › General › About and install any carrier update.
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode on for 15 seconds, then off.
- Ensure Cellular Data is enabled.
- Restart the iPhone fully.
- If still failing: Contact SMARTY via the SMARTY app or on 0333 777 1777.
Parent Network: Three
SMARTY is owned by Three and uses Three's towers. The APN is smarty — distinct from Three's three.co.uk. Both are open APNs requiring no credentials, but they route through different gateways.

Troubleshooting SMARTY Data
- Toggle Aeroplane Mode for 15 seconds to force network re-registration on Three's infrastructure.
- Restart your phone to apply any saved APN settings.
- Verify the APN reads exactly smarty — no spaces, no http://, no extra characters.
- Confirm credentials are blank: username and password must be empty for this open APN.
- Reset network settings and re-create the APN from scratch if the above steps do not resolve the issue.
