MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) lets you send picture messages, video clips and audio files as text messages. To send and receive MMS on SMARTY, your phone needs the correct MMSC address, MMS proxy and MMS port values configured in the APN settings. Without these, picture messages may fail to send, download or appear as empty boxes.

Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names. Tap your existing SMARTY APN or create a new one. Fill in the MMSC field, the MMS Proxy field, and the MMS Port field with the SMARTY values. Make sure the APN Type field includes mms (for example: default,supl,mms). Save and restart.

How to configure MMS settings on iPhone
On iPhone, MMS settings are part of the mobile data network settings at Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Network. Scroll down to the MMS section and enter the SMARTY MMSC, MMS Proxy and MMS Max Message Size values. Tap the back arrow to save.
If the MMS section is missing on iPhone, go to Settings → Messages and make sure MMS Messaging is toggled on. If it remains greyed out, your iPhone carrier bundle may need updating — contact SMARTY.

Fastest way to apply new APN settings
After saving, turn aeroplane mode ON for 10 seconds, then turn it OFF. This forces an immediate network re-registration — quicker than a full restart and equally effective.
Troubleshooting SMARTY MMS problems
Picture messages not sending: Check that mobile data is turned on (MMS requires mobile data even on Wi-Fi). Verify the MMSC address and MMS proxy are correctly entered. Make sure the APN type includes mms.
Picture messages not downloading: Tap the message to manually trigger a download. Check your mobile data is enabled. Some messaging apps require you to enable Auto-retrieve MMS in their settings.
MMS working but blurry: This is usually an issue with the sending device compressing the image. Ask the sender to use a different messaging app. WhatsApp or iMessage may give better quality for image sharing.

Standard MMS is limited in file size (usually 300KB to 1MB) and compresses images heavily. For high-quality photo and video sharing, use iMessage (iPhone to iPhone), WhatsApp, or Google Messages with RCS enabled. These apps send over internet data and do not use MMS compression.
SMARTY MMS messages may fail to send if the MMS APN settings are missing or incorrect. Check the MMSC, MMS Proxy and Port values in your settings match the SMARTY values shown above.
Do I need mobile data to send MMS on SMARTY?
Yes, MMS picture messages require mobile data to send and receive, even if you are connected to WiFi. Make sure mobile data is enabled when sending MMS on SMARTY.
What is the SMARTY MMSC address?
The SMARTY MMSC address is listed in the APN settings table above. Enter it exactly as shown, including the http:// prefix and port number if required.
Why are MMS settings greyed out on my phone?
MMS settings may be greyed out because your carrier has locked the APN settings. Contact SMARTY to request an APN unlock, or try inserting the SIM into another compatible device.
Can I receive MMS without setting up the APN on SMARTY?
On most modern phones, SMARTY MMS settings are configured automatically. If MMS is not working, manually enter the MMSC, Proxy and Port values from the table above.
